"Jay" Geary was born in Boston, Massachusetts and has lived and practiced law in Lakeland since 1987.  He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.  Mr. Geary received his B.A. in American Civilization from Brown University in 1972 and his J.D. from Northeastern University in 1979.  He is a member of the Florida Bar and the Massachusetts Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Courts of Appeal for the Eleventh and Ninth Circuits and the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the District of Massachusetts.

Mr. Geary has a broad transactional and trial practice including: general corporate and business matters, community associations, complex business and commercial litigation, insurance coverage and casualty defense litigation.  He is a frequent seminar lecturer on Florida insurance coverage litigation and insurance coverage trends, particularly in the area of commercial general liability insurance.

Mr. Geary has served this community as a director of The Drug Prevention Resource Center, Inc., as a team leader for the American Cancer Society's 2007 "Relay for Life" and currently serves as a director and President of READ Lakeland, Inc., an organization promoting adult literacy.  He is a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Lakeland.
